A HAZY SHADE OF WINTER

Inspired by the Simon and Garfunkel song of the same name, this group exhibition explores the emotions, colours, memories, and atmosphere that winter evokes. For some artists, winter brings icy landscapes and cool palettes of blues and whites, reflecting colder, shorter days. For others, the season sparks a longing for warmth—depicted through cozy indoor scenes, jewel tones, and the desire to capture nature in full bloom.

Winter also marks a milestone in the passage of time. For many, 2020 has felt surreal; though time has moved forward and the seasons have shifted, life as we once knew it feels distant.

Through this collection, viewers are invited to reflect on the artists' relationship with winter and consider how something as simple as a change in weather can deeply influence the work they create.
